Introducere
Folosim prezentul simplu
• pentru fapte și informații care sunt, în general, adevărate
• pentru acțiuni obișnuite
• pentru a descrie persoane și obiecte.
Partea I – Forma afirmativă a prezentului simplu
În general, folosim rădăcina verbelor pentru "I" / "you" / "we" / "they". Pentru "he" / "she" / "it" schimbăm terminația verbului adăugând "-s", "-es" sau "-ies".

Partea a II-a – Forma negativă a prezentului simplu
Verbul la forma negativă nu se modifică. În schimb, folosim verbul "do" pe care îl acordăm cu "he" / "she" / "it".

Verbul la forma interogativă nu se modifică. În schimb, folosim verbul "do" pe care îl acordăm cu "he" / "she" / "it".

Prezentul simplu este folosit și pentru a ne referi la un eveniment care va avea loc în viitor:

Exemple:
Forma afirmativă My flight leaves tomorrow morning.
Forma negativă Our flight doesn't leave tomorrow morning.
Forma interogativă Does her flight leave tomorrow morning?
Aspect lingvistic de nivel intermediar
Uneori folosim forma negativă într-o întrebare, de obicei pentru a exprima surprinderea:
