a) x, (x-1)2, x+2

(x-1)2 = (x+x+2)/2

x-1 = 2x+2

x-2x = 2+1

-x = 3

x = -3

b) 2x-5= (x+x-4)/2

4x-10 = 2x-4

4x-2x = -4+10

2x = 6

x = 3

c) x+1 = (x-1+2x-1)/2

2x+2 = 3x-2

2x-3x = -2-2

-x = -4

x = 4

d) 1-x = (x+1+4)/2

2-2x = x+5

-2x -x = 5-2

-3x = 3

x = -1
