Spring is a season of flowers which arrives after winter and before the summer, During the spring season, weather becomes pleasant and the days grow longer. It is the season of fragrance, beauty, fresh leaves, and flowers.
March 1st means the beginning of the calendar spring, but for Romanians it is closely linked to the tradition of offering martișoare, an ancient symbol that celebrates the change of seasons and the rebirth of nature. Martisorul, offered as a gift on March 1 of each year, is a kind of symbolic calendar, made of a two-tone string, which gathers the days, weeks and months of the year in two seasons: winter and summer.
Usually on 1st march i love exchanging Martișoare with my classmates or friends. Sometimes with our martișoare we get snowdrops too.
