Hello!

*****

Dear Paul,

I am writing to you in order to explain the school rules we have. I know this topic interests you, as you had expressed your wish in a previous letter, to find out more about our school system.

The most important rules that the pupils must obey are related to the respect towards teachers, of course. We must never insult them, because they are here to guide us. Of course they sometimes may be wrong in qualifying our activities, but their job is to show us where we have difficulties and what we can do to improve our knowledge.

The respect we must show to the teaching staff leads me to another rule related to the way we get dressed. In my school, we are not obliged to wear uniforms, although there is a special uniform worn only by the students in our college, particularly on special occasions, such as school festivals or competitions. In the rest of our time spent at school, we mostly wear a white t-shirt or shirt and blue or black jeans, of all tints between these two colours.

Another important rule is to promote the image of the school by a pleasant behaviour, both at school and outside. We must not deteriorate any physical property within the school, such as desks, walls, apparatus and materials that we use during the classes of Physics, Chemistry, Information Technology, Biology.

I have briefly described the main rules, next time I'll tell you more if you wish. Please tell me about the rules in your school in your next letter.

Yours sincerely,

Leonard.
