The first earthquake happened in the middle of the night on 20th
May 2012. I was asleep when suddenly my bed started shaking
violently. My family and I ran quickly down the stairs into the street.
There was a second earthquake nine days later. The two earthquakes
5 killed seven people, injured another 50 and badly damaged most of
the buildings in our town. After the earthquake we lived and slept in
the streets for several days. I know that my country is in a seismic area,
but some scientists think that one of the causes of the earthquake
might be 'fracking the process of drilling down into the earth to find
10 gas. If fracking continues, there might be more earthquakes.
