Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa, Italy, in 1451. His first trip was to Chios. Cristofor married the daughter of the governor of the island of Porto Santo. Cristofor had only one child and that was Diego who was born in 1480. Cristofor came to a conclusion from his studies that the earth is 25% smaller than previously thought. In September 1493 he decided to embark on an expedition to the islands of Dominica, Guadeloupe and Antigua, and he returned in 1494 in September. In 1498 he embarked on his third voyage and landed on the island of Trinidad (Venezuela), then on the island of Margarita and then Hispaniola. The fourth voyage started from Cadiz in May 1502. In January 1503 he landed in Panama. The expedition was reduced to 2 caravels that failed while going to Jamaica. He sent messengers to Hispaniola asking for help, and the help came a year later, since then Cristofor has never sailed.
