Hi there!
For me, winter holidays means Christmas. Christmas is a family holiday for us, as a rule. Preparations started a few days in advance. After the house was cleaned and ready for guests, we all took it to the kitchen to help mum cook the meal for Christmas day. On Christmas Eve, we decorated the tree. We are environmentally- friendly and we didn`t buy a real tree, but an artificial one which is actually beautiful. On Christmas Day we gathered round the tree and exchanged gifts. Everyone was excited and busy unwrapping the presents, some of them were trying on things, some were sulking for not having received the expected gift. Lots of guests came over our house because this has been the meeting place of our extended family for the past 5 years. We listened to carols, ate a lot of goodies and caught up with the family news. The house was full of people and it radiated good will. We always have a great time together and look forward to this family get-together.
After Christmas, we started preparing for the New Year`s Eve party. We decorated the place with balloons, tinsel and streamers. People started showing up at around 9 or 10 o`clock in the evening. The tables were filled with delicious food and beverages, while music engulfed the rooms, luring the guests to the dance floor. From time to time, people rested their feet for a while before going back to dance. While sitting on the couch and in armchairs they cracked jokes and engaged in lively conversation and a joyous feeling filled the air. At midnight the sound of popping corks could startle you for a second, but soon enough a stream of champagne found its way into the guests` glasses. Everyone wished each other a happy and prosperous New Year. The crowd of revelers then watched a spectacular fireworks that lit up the sky to mark the coming of the new year. Afterwards, the rhythm slowed down a little, but the party went on till the crack of dawn. Weary but cheerful, people headed home in the early hours of the morning.
I just love winter holidays!

It's the first day of winter vacation. Bright snowflakes cover everything around them with their frozen beauty.Everything looks like stories.Bright bulbs burn on the roof of the houses and Christmas decorations, which, more original and more beautiful, adorn them the windows sprinkled with silver. Around here, there are still faces of children who look with a gleam of delight in the eyes the feast that unfolds beyond the groan of their room.Others, playing outside in deep snow. They do not care about the cold that begins to redden their cheeks harder, the hunger that begins to say their word. They do not care about the cold that begins to reddle their cheeks harder, the hunger that begins to say their word slowly, for nothing. They are enveloped only by the beauty of that gorgeous holiday day!
