Here is also the world's first underground railway system, London Underground. It started running in 1863 as the Metropolitan Railway.

Most people in London are British but there are also immigrants from many different countries.People who visit London as tourists may see the famous "Sights of London". These sights include Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Natural History Museum,  Tower Bridge, Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square.

London is one of the most important cities for business and politics.
